The Datacube is a middleware solution that has the goal to connect all existing applications of the ViennaBioCenter Core Facilities (VBCF). It is build upon a flexible microservice architecture, which is deployed in a Kubernetes cloud and therefore highly scaleable.
Sample Information System
The Sample Information System or short SISY is a framework created based on the accumulated knowledge of 15 years of custom sample management systems at the VBC. It consists of an extendable data structure tailored specific to the use of laboratories and scientific groups and a shared code library containing common features and functionalities.

The VBC eCommerce project was initiated from an evolving need of research facilities to provide a simple and efficient way to offer their scientific products and services.
The result: A centralized, user-friendly platform for managing and offering different products and services to satisfy every need of scientific research - easily accessible and searchable at any time for all our scientific customers.
Digital Strategy & Consultancy
We develop and manage the IT strategy of our scientific research organization, ensuring a secure and future‑proof infrastructure.
Our responsibilities include defining IT policies, maintaining a sustainable software portfolio, and integrating third‑party software solutions to support research activities.
In addition, we provide consultancy for core facilities, helping them adopt technologies that enhance efficiency and scientific output.
